Post 8-Editing of footage, title and credits to a soundtrack, using video and sound editing software

Editing in stop motion animation is a very important stage in the stop motion process. This is because it is the final stage before the film can be published. It is crucial because the editors have to remove all the wires and green screens from the filming process, and replace it with real  backgrounds/backdrops, as well as editing all the shots together and making it look as smooth as possible.
Once all your photos are taken, you must open up the app your using (most people use Adobe After Effects, premiere pro or Eclipse) and transfer all your photos onto the timeline. Then, you will have to adjust each individual photo for the photos to all flow smoothly together. If your photo includes wires or other objects, you will have to edit out these objects in order for your stop motion to look realistic. You can use photoshop or GIMP where you will have to individually select each picture with a wire and erase it, and then put the original layer back on top. Or, you can edit your photos in premiere pro. To do this, you have to drag your sequence onto the timeline and click on the photo, go to effects, effects controls, and down to the pencil tool on opacity, then carefully click around the wire/ rig until all the dots connect, and finally press invert and you should see that the rig/wire has disappeared.  (How to remove stop motion rigs in premiere pro, 2019).

Laika uses 'Flix' to develop their animations. Flix has also been used for previous animation projects like 'Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2' and 'Hotel Transylvania'. By using Flix, Laika can speed up the studios workflow to allow for easier collaboration and efficiency with the writers and storyboard team.
Adding titles and credits is quite easy compared to creating the stop motion. In the editing programme, make sure your video is placed on the timeline, and there should be a button with 'TITLES' towards the top of the app. If you click this, you can create a title/ credits. This is what it should look like.
